About Jeremiah

A brief biography and a little of my gaming history ...

We all have our own histories with board games. My history started from a young age. I grew up in a family that loved our game time. We played a lot of card games (always with a deck of cards), and we played classics like mancala, cribbage, monoply, etc.

It wasn't until much later in my life that I was introduced to games outside the mass market games found at Walmart and Target. While I was attending college at Georgia Tech a couple of my friends introduced me to the games Bang! and Munchkin.

This was my first look at how games can be much more than I previously thought. Tabletop games can have theme, deep strategy, luck, elimination. They can be humorous, stressful, or elicit any emotion.

After college my older brother introduced me to Wil Wheton's TableTop webseries, a webseries where celebrities play various tabletop games, and I was hooked. I had never seen so many different types of games before. I quickly found myself navigating the forums of BoardGameGeek.com learning everything I could about the games featured on the show.

It didn't take long before I was searching out a group of people to play games with every week. I found my current group and have been growing my game shelves ever since.
